Humanitarian Awareness

"Tragedy must be seen as human and not historic, and that to think of it in national terms alone can obscure that fact."

DHAF Nights: Community, Cuisine and Compassion

Once a month, something special happens at The Mary Robinson Centre. As evening falls, the doors open not just to a meal, but to a movement. We call it DHAF Night, a Dinner Humanitarian Awareness Fundraising Night that transforms shared tables into powerful acts of solidarity.

Born from the spirit of the original Cook for Gaza event, DHAF Night carries forward a simple but profound belief. When we break bread together, we can also break down the distance between us and communities in crisis. Each month, we turn our attention to a different urgent humanitarian cause, shining a light where it is needed most.

Recent focuses have included supporting people living in Sudan, Gaza, and other regions facing acute need.

Every DHAF Night spotlights a specific crisis. This ensures our community’s compassion stays responsive, informed, and deeply engaged with the world around us.

Here is how it works. Bring along a dish inspired by the featured region, or simply something you love to share. There are no strict rules, only warm company, meaningful conversation, and a shared sense of purpose. Whether you are an experienced cook or bringing a favourite from your own kitchen, you are very welcome to join.

Every euro raised on the night goes directly to Concern Worldwide.

Most importantly, every euro raised on the night goes directly to Concern Worldwide. Your contribution helps fund lifesaving nutrition, healthcare, and protection for those who need it most. It is a simple formula: good food, good people, and a good cause.

DHAF Nights are proof that small acts, gathered around a table, can grow into something extraordinary. Join us at the next gathering. Check our events page for the upcoming date. Bring a dish, share a story, and help us turn awareness into action, one meal at a time.”
